OUR STORY

Volunteer Korea (주한외국인자원봉사센터 Volunteer Center for Foreign Nationals in South Korea) was founded by long term international residents of Korea, Tony Medina (CEO of Seoul Guide Medical )and Julian Quintart in Seoul. Both have a long history of volunteering in Korea but came across difficulties, especially when they were less fluent in Korean. With Through these experience they learned what was lacking in terms of connecting internationals to volunteering opportunities. the help local government, businesses, non-profit organizations and other great individuals, they formed this association. 

Julian Quintart is a Belgian national and Korean permanent resident. He came here as a Rotary Club Youth Exchange Student for one year and never left. He received public recognition for his role in the famous TV Show “Non-Summit” (비정상회담) many other TV shows. Actively trying to expand connections between Foreign Nationals and Koreans, he is working closely with the Korean Ministry of Justice as an Advisory Member for the Integration Board and  the Ministry of Justice Mentor Group for KIIP.  As a EU Goodwill Ambassador for Climate Action he is also using his voice to raise awareness for Climate Issues.

Tony Medina is a Canadian national and Korean permanent resident. He is founder of Seoul Guide Medical, Korea’s largest medical tourism service provider and CEO of Seoul Guide Guide Korea which deals with international trade as well as chairman of Antoni Equity Investment Fund. He created the social media marketing program for the Seoul Metropolitan Government and since then has worked to bring international visitors to Korea and connect those in Korea to these visitors. He works closely with embassies, local government officials and businesses.

저희 주한외국인자원봉사센터(볼런티어 코리아)는 한국에 오랜 시간 거주 하고 있는 토니 메디나(서울가이드메디컬 대표)와 줄리안 퀸타르트에 의해 설립되었습니다.   두 사람 모두 봉사를 한 경험이 많이 있지만 한국어가 서툴러 어려움을 겪은 적이 많았는데, 그러한 경험을 통해 외국인이 한국에서 자원봉사를 하는데 무엇이 부족한지 배웠다고 합니다.  그리하여 그들은 지방 자치단체, 기업, 비영리 단체, 그리고 그 외 개인들을 돕기 위해 이 단체를 만들었습니다.  

줄리안 퀸타르트는 벨기에 국적인 한국 영주권자입니다. 그는 로터리 클럽 청소년 교환 학생으로 1년간 한국에 온 뒤로 계속 거주하고 있으며 JTPC의 “비정상회담”을 통해 대중의 인정을 받게 되었습니다. 현재는 통합 위원회의 자문위원으로 한국 법무부와 사회통합정보망(KIIP)의 법무부 멘토 그룹과도 긴밀히 협력하고 있습니다. 또한 기후 활동을 위한 EU 친선 대사로서 기후 문제에 대한 사회적 인식을 높이기 위한 목소리를 내고 있습니다.

토니 메디나는 캐나다 국적인 한국 영주권자입니다. 그는 한국 최대의 의료관광 서비스 업체인 서울가이드메디컬의 설립자이자 국제 무역을 다루는 서울가이드코리아 대표이사이며 안토니에쿼티투자펀드 회장이기도 합니다. 그는 서울시를 위한 소셜 미디어 마케팅 프로그램을 만들었고 그 후 해외 방문객을 한국으로 데려와 한국에 있는 사람들을 그 방문객들과 연결 시켜주는 일을 하고 있습니다. 또한 그는 대사관, 지방 자치단체 공무원, 기업들과도 긴밀하게 일하고 있습니다.

주한외국인자원봉사센터는 세상을 더 나은 곳으로 만들기 위해 노력하는 사람들이 모인 단체입니다.
